Sometimes I get so lazy and relaxed that my brain goes on hiatus for the rest of the evening. That's the situation that I'm in tonight. So, those of you hoping for something in-depth and inspiring will just have to wait a bit longer.
I, for one, don't mind the quick vacation from thought. My brain has been filled with anxieties, deep thoughts, and ponderances all week. So a break is in order. . .
Tonight was one of the most boring, yet relaxing nights I've had in ages. I got off work and took a quick catnap and then ate a dinner of EZ Mac (God bless the people at Kraft who, um, crafted that!) I did my laundry, did my devotions, took a long walk, and then came back and watched "There's Something About Mary," which is one of my favorite comedies. Yeah, it's kinda raunchy (although comparitvely tame to some of the recent crap out), but it's got such great performances and at its core is a really sweet love story.
Work was okay, just a bit draining today. Sometimes arguing back and forth can just make me very tired. However, my boss did give me $10 for lunch for my recognition today. . . so I got a nice pizza lunch and a few bucks leftover. Maybe I can get some coffee tomorrow night!
Weekend's coming up. Not really much planned. Tomorrow night I have no idea what's up after work. Saturday I work 8:30-2:30 to pick up some OT and then I'm going to something at Erin's church. Sunday is church and I'm teaching Sunday School. And then Monday. . . you guessed it, back to the grindstone!
"Table For Two" by Cademon's Call, my all time favorite song, is on my laptop right now. I love that song. I think the lyrics were posted a few months back on my site. . .
So, on second glance, I don't know how much of a fan I am of Third Day's new cd, "Wire." After talking with some others who've heard it, I have to confess that it's a tad bit of a disappointment. Musically, I like it. The music is upbeat and a good return to the rock roots that they have. Lyrically, however, the cd just is a bit shallow. Nothing heretical or anything...but listening to a song like "Rock Star" I can't believe that these are the same guys who wrote "Love Song," "Show Me Your Glory," or "Nothing Compares."
I wish I had money to hit the movies. But, honestly, there's not a whole lot I'd like to see. The new Harry Potter actually looks good (I liked the first and never saw the second.) But other than that, I think I've seen everything I need to. Terminal and Farenheit 9/11 are the next few I want to see.
Well, I have to get to bed sometime, so I guess now's as good a time as any!
